International Compost Awareness Week

This year, we have a week full of events to celebrate International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW)! Make sure you RSVP today! We start off on Monday, 5/6/24, with a virtual tour of the Norman Compost Facility. On Tuesday, 5/7/24, we will have two workshops on composting at The Well in Norman. On Wednesday, 5/8/24, we have teamed up with the Downtown Library to view the movie Kiss The Ground and host a composting demonstration. Thursday, we will have a screening of the new movie Common Ground at Rodeo Cinema; OCASA members get discounted tickets! Join us on Friday for a Social Hour at Sailor and the Dock!

And then, on Saturday, we will have our annual COMPOST FESTIVAL at Scissortail Park!!! This event is filled with workshops, vendors, educational tables, and panels. Let us know which event you will attend by clicking the button below.

International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) is the largest and most comprehensive education initiative of the compost industry. It is celebrated nationwide and in other countries each year during the first full week of May. The goal of ICAW is to work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organics and using compost to create healthier soil.
